  • ALVEOLAR: Linguistics Formed with the tip of the tongue touching or near the inner ridge of the gums of the upper front teeth,  (t), (d), and (s).

  • BILABIAL: A bilabial consonant is a consonant that is articulated clasping both lips. Applies to the phoneme or consonant sound articulation point in which involved the two lips.

  • GLOTTAL: A speech sound produced by closing the vocal cords and then opening them quickly so that the air from the lungs is released with force.

  • INTERDENTAL: Pronounced with the tip of the tongue between the teeth, as (th) in that or (th) in thumb.

  • LABIODENTAL: Articulated with the lower lip and upper teeth, as the sounds (f) and (v).

     
  • PALATAL: Produced with the blade of the tongue near the hard palate, as the (ch) in English chin.

  • UVULAR: Linguistics Articulated by vibration of the uvula or with the back of the tongue near or touching the uvula.

  • VELAR:Articulated with the back of the tongue touching or near the soft palate, as (g) in good and (k) in king.
